Hillside Elementary, 12309

This is a very large and new playground at an elementary school in the Niskayuna school district. All children are welcome to play on it
A few of the old school apparatus still exist. There are not any hard surfaces for kids to fall on.

The barrier around these swings is far enough away that one can jump of the swing and not worry about hitting it. Compare this to the Riverside playground swings- ankle breakers- .
The entire area is covered with a thick layer of wood chips.
The corkscrew slide is very high, but the top is closed in and the sides of the slide are not short.

The manufacturer of this playground has received quite a few orders in Schenectady County. They have very fun designs and are conscientious of kids safety.
This is a next generation teeter totter, its like you are riding a giant snake.
Chimes that teach the musical scale.

If one were to fall through this gap, the ground is close to 15 feet away. Even with the mulch, this seems a bit too high.

I would place an extra 6 inches of mulch under all of the high obstacles on this playground.

This slide looks like great fun, but it is not that fast. The manufacturer uses high friction plastic.
